Michelle Winkel, M.A. , ATR
Michelle Winkel is a trained art therapist, reflective supervisor, and facilitator with over fifteen years of experience working with groups, individuals and organizations. As the Reflective Supervisor at a County Education Agency, in California. co-designed and implemented a program that worked with Headstart, the Child Protective Agency and other non-profits in the area to strengthen service networks. In addition to this work, since 2000 Michelle has incorporated the innovative technique of graphic facilitation into her work with groups and organizations. Recently, she has specialized in working with public sector agencies to improve supervision, performance and morale as they implement business transformations. Michelle works with Delta Partners Management Consultants on large public sector projects.
Michelle’s credentials include a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in California, and as a Registered Art Therapist in North America. In addition to her Master’s Degree from Loyola Marymount University, Michelle was a Fellow at Harvard Children’s Hospital and Napa Valley Infant-Parent Mental Health Fellowship training from 2004-2005.
Michelle taught Group Dynamics at Loyola Marymount University while maintaining a private practice in Los Angeles that worked with individuals, families and other organizations. She incorporates her training, listening skills and her experience as an art therapist into her facilitation of group processes. Since 1999, Michelle has used strategic illustration and visual facilitation in her consulting, based on the needs of the client.
Lauren Nackman, M.A.
Lauren Nackman has over 15 years experience working in administration and management of public and not-for-profit agencies. She began her career as a front-line program manager in employment and social services. She successfully obtained grant funding for new programs, including welfare-to-work training programs, career planning programs for at-risk youth and quality improvement training programs for businesses. In her capacity as program manager, she designed these new programs and trained staff to implement them.
Working for the management consulting firm, Accenture, in their public service practice, Lauren managed implementation of state and local government projects. This included working with executive leadership to manage communications and training for staff and working with all parties to meet implementation deadlines. She had responsibility for the communications and change management needed to implement a welfare case management automation system for almost 2000 users.
Most recently, Ms. Nackman worked with the Legislative Analysts’ Office in California. There, she provided research and recommendations to the Legislature in the social service areas of Child Welfare, Foster Care, Employment and Labor programs, and Child Care Licensing and quality measurement. She regularly testified before both policy and budget sub-committees regarding recommendations and advice regarding these program areas. Lauren holds a Master’s Degree in Social Policy Analysis (Urban Planning) from the University of California, Los Angeles.
